  2. Gold leaf isn't actually that expensive as a material - it's not cheap, but it's not that expensive. The main coat is in applying it and, like all things, there's an art to doing it well.

    Gold paint is cheaper, but it's also much easier to do and much harder wearing.

  3. Nah, there’s a knock-off leafing you can buy, our scenic painters use it on the projects that call it out. It looks similar enough. Same process so I’m sure it put on a nice show for those watching it get applied, look forward to its removal.
