Oh I basically just read "blah blah blah" whenever numbers turn up. There are a lot of things or a small number of things or these things outnumbered these things, that's all I need to know.

It's a problem for the writers. If a Imperial Guard task force is say 5,000,000 strong it's hard to make Gaunt or Caine's actions matter whilst still being something they can do without shattering suspension of disbelief.
-
I remember them at the very beginning being small groups guarding important shrines and people. I'm talking when there was just 1 squad available as allies for other armies
-
I feel like I thought it was implied when they were first a thing that there was maybe less Sisters than there were marines. Back before they were doing crusades and things.

We're going to liberate/defend a planet with 6000 guardsmen. A planet. A whole one. Guardsmen. 6000 of them.

I'm not sure I'd say either use FTL as both cheat it. The Federation's warp is obviously far more accurate, reliable and safer and can pretty much drop into orbit than travelling around in hell. Possibly their most underrated weapon is the transporter though...
-
The federation would keep trying to negotiate and keep it's morals which in context isn't much smarter
-
I find I'm too literal to do direct comparisons (as in what happens when a lance battery hits a federation ship's shields? We don't know) but with phasers the kill setting in TOS through to Voyager is very different from Discovery and SNW. The former evaporates a marine the latter I'm not so sure

Really? I mostly remember it being peak Disney Princess time and least until Pixar. (Again I'm not grouchy about this, us boys had plenty)

Did Disney ever court Millennial men? Because I don't think so and we both survived pretty well.
