There's a land-nav course, but you're not told the time for pass/fail. So you're slogging through swamps and snakes and hornets, and you have no clue as to whether you should just quit and spare yourself the misery.

I should add in here that there's a selection course. It's weird; like, you know you’ve already been selected, you just have to prove how much shit you're willing to eat to.get the job. For instance, during Nasty Nick (the SOCOM obstacle course), they don't time you, but . . .

3.5.3 It turned out that the Warrant Officer School wouldn't let me attend having had a broken neck. JSOC took me back as a Team Sergeant; a Master Sergeant billet. High praise.
