I agree with the sentiments of those Brits pushing back. But those saying that "Dishes isn't a universal term" apparently don't know that "washing the dishes" is a valid alternative phrasing of "doing the washing up". Still wouldn't call it dish soap tho, ew.

I'm absolutely not saying you have to vote for someone who doesn't represent your values, or for a party who is actively trying to remove your rights. But going to the polls and writing "All these folks are c*nts, they do not represent me" on your voting slip, is a viable, legitimate protest.

...and will be more inclined to look into why people spoiled their ballots. They can ignore non voters. Non voters don't have a voice at all, those who vote, or spoil ballots at least have some voice. It night feel like a whisper in a hurricane but enough folks do it and it becomes a scream.
-
Personally, I think it's important to vote, or at the least go to the polls and scrawl "None of the above" on the ballot paper, because they do count numbers of spoiled ballots and if that number is higher than normal it's a voice of dissent rather than apathy. They'll see those numbers...

Honestly, I think we're past the stage where we need Old School Gravitas. As a country we keep handing the reins to the old Etonian Boys club, and they keep driving us off a cliff. It's time for a change. I'm not getting my hopes up, but it is refreshing to see.

Well, they appear to be using language that stokes resentment, rage and racism. And a lot of those people aren't going to vote for Temu Reform (Labour), when the real Reform is right there, with a far more charismatic talking head mouthing off all over the news, so yeah. I do.
-
I think there's a lot of folks, like me, that wouldn't be voting Labour again anyway. And until now, there wasn't a good alternative for left leaning voters. Would you prefer all those disenfranchised Labour voters on the left to not vote? PR might help but will probably give Reform more seats too

You'd think so wouldn't you. But it's become "normal" amongst politicians to just keep repeating the same few soundbite phrases and hope that that hits vaguely in the direction of what the interviewer was asking. Zack seems to get both the soundbites, and actually answers the questions too.

I get that breaking the Ministerial code should come with consequences. But I also believe that intent should be taken into consideration. This feels like punishing a clumsy girl for dropping a plate while her brother throws plates at a wall with no action taken to stop it or punish him.

The problem being that if she had been a male Etonian she wouldn't have been scrutinised nearly as hard. She was punished for attempting to do things the right way (and following bad advice), whereas the likes of Farage and Hunt get away scot free when employing loopholes to avoid paying tax.
