Lemme just say if President Bernie Sanders had unilaterally imposed, by executive fiat, hundreds of billions of new taxes, personally browbeat executives about job cuts and investments and then fired the head of BLS, the Chamber of Commerce and the business orgs would not be sitting idly by.
It’s a category error that anyone ever thought these people or the GOP were “pro-business.” The GOP is pro-incumbent power, and business owners are pro-their own company/compensation.
Large businesses are led by individuals, many who think they’ll do well in a Trump reactionary autocracy.

Not necessarily pro-incumbent, but simply making ultra rich people richer. The top few dozen fat cats; less than $10B net worth does not count.

People gloss over this all the time. No business spends money to send lobbyists to DC with a “pro-business” agenda. They come to reduce the costs on their business, increase costs on competitors, and shift their own burdens to the government
