Bought a whole bunch of books today at McKay’s. Two Sagan books, another Paris history, some Arthuriana that’s new to me, and some classics. Quite pleased.

just learned that in chinese buddhism oysters were traditionally considered vegetarian bc of a myth about someone (a god/dess or a monk, depending on the story) eating them to survive a famine, and in return for saving them oysters were granted enlightenment and their physical forms are irrelevant

today i processed six pounds of peaches into peach jalapeno jam, which is basically as good as touching grass

I went to a largely outdoor barbecue but of course didn’t want to go outside so I wore a bucket hat & stood near the back door but still inside & somebody just told me they thought I got a little color today so I guess I fooled everyone!
