imagine telling me of all people that Damore was misunderstood, and that he had no political agenda, and it was the people that "cancelled" him who had woke political agendas and that I am rewriting history to insist Damore had a political agenda.

this man has never worked at Google, to boot.

"Along the way, the companies became less tolerant of employee outspokenness".

The "outspokenness" was the cancel culture by the mob of activists obsessed with politics and not business.

Does anybody remember James Damore and Antonio García Martínez?
Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Liz Fong-Jones no. We are not rewriting history here.
Damore was lured into irrelevant political project within the organization by the activists.
They lied to him when they told him they are interested in his opinion. When he wrote his opinion they cancel-mobbed him because the opinion did not match the agenda.

also imagine defending a guy who called women "soft and weak, cosseted and naive, and generally full of shit... entitlement feminism"

  4. lol, Damore was given so many more opportunities to apologize than he was owed, and he still couldn't just summon up the intestinal fortitude to take the L and make a real apology and then shut the hell up.

Particularly galling to suggest that he was entrapped by "activists", when he posted his screed for public comment. And if anything, well-meaning folks actually tried to help him try to launder his naked animus with respectable rhetoric at first.
