  1. Remember "The Great British National Protest"?

Not phased by their failure to get more than a few thousand out for their "strike" in May, they're now attacking schools associated with City of Sanctuary UK

Latest action is lying to gullible xenophobes about kids sending supportive notes to refugees

The Great British National Protest's post

THE GREAT BRITISH NATIONAL PROTEST 22h

This is the comprehensive list of schools operating under "City of Sactuary UK".

Schools are now working with this "charity" to get children as young as 5 years old to write "love letters, Valentine's Day cards and make "pledges" to adult refugees.

Sit down for this one, the list will shock you.

Valentine's Day activities

While City of Sanctuary is not directly involved in the delivery of specific activities in schools, we understand there has been mention of a Valentine's Day welcome card initiative where children wrote anonymised messages of welcome such as "we hope you feel safe here" to people seeking safety in their communities.

We have full confidence that schools and teachers organise age-appropriate activities and follow rigorous safeguarding procedures to ensure every child's safety during such activities. This thoughtful gesture is an example of kindness and solidarity extended to people who have fled to the UK and are awaiting the outcome of their asylum claims.

We believe that acts of compassion like this help build welcoming communities and should be celebrated.

  2. LOL I had an interaction with Richard Tice at an event in 2018. He was not cool at all - said it was rude of me to point out how Vote Leave lied and broke the law.

He was in Leave Means Leave, who pushed Theresa May towards the worst Brexit in 2017

Dear Prime Minister,

Following your speech in Florence, we are writing to seek clarification on a number of key points that motivated 17.4 million people to vote for Brexit in June 2016. The speech could be taken to indicate that during the transition period, effectively nothing will change in reality, thereby delaying the benefits of Brexit. We are sure this is not your intention.

Our concerns are:

1) Freedom of movement: The proposal merely to register EU migrants during the transition period does not provide control over migration. Given the significant level of public concern over this issue, Leave voters will wish to see real change as quickly as possible after the UK leaves the EU, and not a delay for at least five years after the vote.

2) Embracing global free trade: During the transitional period, the UK should be able to negotiate, sign and, crucially, implement global trade deals otherwise we will lose a significant benefit of Brexit and the world will tire of waiting for us.

3) Bound by new rules: Is it contemplated that the UK be forced to obey new EU rules implemented during the transition period, even though we will have had no input on their production?

4) ECJ oversight: UK courts must be sovereign after March 2019. The ability for our courts to take account of ECJ rulings, as suggested, must not detract from this and they must not be bound by such rulings.

5) Freedom to reform and encourage growth: The UK should deregulate unnecessary non-trade related EU laws in areas including domestic and global business activity, as well as reform agriculture and fisheries. This would help to generate economic growth as well as help our farming and fishing industries to expand.

(continued on next image)6) The danger is that the transition period could be extended: This could result in an indefinite delay to a proper Brexit. There is no incentive for the EU to accelerate a free trade deal, unless they really believe we would move to WTO rules. This issue should be resolved well before the transition period starts. To delay the end of the transition period until after the projected 2022 general election could jeopardise the entire Brexit programme + therefore it should be made clear that the period must terminate, at the latest, on 30 March 2021.

7) 'No deal is better than a bad deal': We are confident that the Government is actively preparing for a 'no deal' scenario where we move to WTO rules. Contrary to the CBI advice, this is not to be feared. Many businesses are already planning for this. The imminent publication of indicative plans for this scenario by the Government will give confidence to the British people, baseline certainty to business and help our negotiating leverage. If the EU is not seriously negotiating a free trade deal by Christmas 2017, the Government should give formal notice that we will move to WTO rules in March 2019.

Your Florence speech made some bold win-win offers to the EU. We urge you, in return, to insist on an acceleration of the negotiation process, not a delay, so that the UK can take advantage of the many opportunities of Brexit. EU negotiators should be reminded that Article 50 provides that the withdrawal negotiations must take account of the UK's future relationship with the continuing EU. At present, that provision is being breached.

We would welcome your clarification on the concerns we have set out + would encourage you to address these at the Conservative Party conference in Manchester next week where we wish you every success.

Yours sincerely,
