As an astronomer/physicist, I absolutely agree- some of the best courses I took as an undergrad were in the humanities. BTW loved "Newton and the Counterfeiters" - need to look at "money for nothing" while listening to Dire Straits.

"putting swastikas on us" is what one would call a "tell". Also too: how does "Borked" 40 years ago justify putting Evil Bove on a court?

are you available to be a Dem consultant? I hear it pays well.

I can't comment on Nichols' bsky account, but that he would repost this crap, including the screeching "putting swastikas on us", says as much about him as Nordlinger. Also too he apparently has never heard the phrase "two wrongs don't make a right". And Bork wronged? Puhleeze.

Forget it James, it's The Atlantic.

Could we convince them all to stay there?

"I don’t think I have ever publicly criticized any Presidential nominee before." so where is your apology?

OMG.

Actually, it isn't very clear who originated this phrase: see quoteinvestigator.com/2013/03/26/g...

It also sucks for astronomy. And probably for much else in STEM fields.
