  1. Huh how can they issue anything when they can't put votes on the floor. This is not going to go well for Texas Republicans in office when this s*** goes to court

  2. I just hope these DEMS are being protected by IL & NY state police directive by their governors.

  3. A true democratic republic does not force anyone to vote “or else” by threatening imprisonment or worse. This is entirely unAmerican.

  4. I don't suppose Texas Republicans even bothered to provide any information about what law the Democrats are supposed to have broken to warrant being arrested?

  5. How can they vote on anything when they don’t have a quorum? Would this even be legal without the quorum?

  6. ReTHUGS will do EVERYTHING and ANYTHING to break the law!... Love shoving it back in their fucking Racist faces!! We're starting to fight 🔥 with 🔥and it feels GREAT!!!

  7. A brazen grab for unfettered power. Only 56% of Texas voters supported GOP in 2024 yet GOP end up with 2/3 of all seats.

Given the choice today, imho GOP votes would be well below 50%.

Texans, your state is being handed over by your reps. to the sleazy NY realtor rapist.

  8. any exigent circumstances listed

and "but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized." issued by a judge

  9. The arrest warrants aren't valid outside Texas. The dems are outside Texas 😘. Sucks that they're being kept from their families. Republicans are masters of separating families huh?

  10. How about arrest warrants on ICE agents for taking citizens without reason and without due process..I hope there's a major class action suit filed against them by families and friends and employers affected by this mess

  11. If the Texas House doesn’t have a quorum to vote on the maps, how can they vote on issuing arrest warrants?

  12. Breaking quorum is not a crime: When lawmakers leave the state to prevent a quorum (as Texas Democrats did in 2021 and again in 2025), they are not committing a criminal offense. This means they cannot be arrested.

  13. Oooooouu. So tough. Means jack.
It’s a civil infraction which basically means it’s a traffic ticket.
    Wow. Sooooooo scary.

  14. This is what we want to see from Democrats! We’re sick of hearing that policies are “unprecedented” or “undemocratic”, we want to see action taken.

  15. Saw they are paid very tiny subsidy for serving, most have day jobs they are not working. We should consider how to get supplemental funds to them to help them hold. NOT interested in going through dem pacs, they've turned into scam/spam machines & pay too much to BS consultants

  16. “A warrant issued by the Texas House is not effective out of the state unless another state chooses to domesticate it and enforce it under that state’s laws.”

    😂😂😂✌️

  17. So sergeants-at-arms are just truant officers?

Is Trump going to try to use ICE to import the dems to Texas (then deport to wherever)?

Can either "police force" be used to keep Ted Cruz in state whenever there's a disaster?

Could they maybe find the 3 people who are still missing from the floods?

  19. I wonder how they’ll be received in NY or Chicago trying to enforce those if they even have the balls to try. My happiest internet moments have been watching the reception ICE bitches have received in those places. #ResistFacism

  20. Fascinating how republicans contemptuously, gleefully, and brazenly flout the law but expect democrats to meekly follow it (granted, historically they have).

  21. Noem little about the Constitution will probably attempt to have Trumps personal militia (ICE) arrest and detain them. It's where we're folks. Full on Facisit Free for all brought to by MAGA Republicans.

  22. Part of me does want to see a Texas Ranger get thrown in jail for trying to enforce this in Illinois though.

  23. I'm sure these folks had the same opinion of Speaker Johnson recessing Congress so they wouldn't have to vote on releasing the Epstein files. Right? Right? (They did not.)

  24. What is stopping Ds from issuing their own arrest warrants? I mean, a fake warrant should beget a fake warrant.

  25. Dear Texas Republican Politicians,

    Go fuck yourselves.

Signed, The rest of the country

  26. The utter Republicult spineless collusion with the MAGA Trump shitshow has no bounds. Where are all the guard rails?!

  27. And they’re right here in Chicago. They ain’t going back no matter how many warrants are issued. Because they have some sense.

  28. It is not a crime to be absent from Texas. Yes, the legislators can be compelled to return, but it's not at all clear arrests are part of that since absence is NOT a crime or even a civil infraction.

  29. This is improper language for what the Democrats have done. It is called breaking quorum. They did not flee, they simply are not going to show up for work

  30. The warrants are only good in Texas, which will keep the Dems away also…

Not that I expected the R’s to have a plan that makes sense…

  31. That's hilarious. They don't have a quorum to vote on gerrymandering, but they have a quorum to vote on arresting people? Please make it make sense.

  32. We saw this same showdown in Wisconsin in 2010. The Democratic legislators eventually came back after a few weeks and Scott Walker gerrymandered us into oblivion for a very painful decade.

I really hope this works out different, but it looks bleak.

Newsom and Hochul should stay ready to retaliate.

  33. I don't know how the laws work, but if I was a governor hosting those TX dems, I'd muscle up with some weapons and a warning to Abbott & Trump.
