Itβs ridiculous how we have to grovel for public transportation.

This!!!!
Not only will riders suffer, but it will touch every aspect of the state. Rhode Island has many issues it wants to confront and make progress on, but they will not be possible without transit.

How underwhelming.

Thanks for supporting RIPTA, @rebeccakislak.bsky.social

When is @govdanmckee.bsky.social ever not clueless? Heβs stuck in Leave It To Beaverland. Heβs about his cronies getting their piece of the pie and everyone else fighting for crumbs. He needs to fund @ripta.com . At the end of the day Iβd rather see @zagush.bsky.social stay and McKee go.

These cuts are the equivalent of $10 per resident. Per year.
$10 million sounds like a lot. Until you hear the budget for the DOT is $851,194,000.
An extra $10 a year so someone can get to work or school is FINE.
@govdanmckee.bsky.socialβs letter does nothing to assure us that he intends funding RIPTA to avoid slashing service.
This administration continues to be out of touch with reality, forcing RIPTA to dig through couch cushions to continue to operate at current levels, trying to get blood from a stone.

This is a start. I wish @govdanmckee.bsky.social realized the talent we have @ripta.com and in our transit riding community and tapped into them. He is really underestimating the vitality of public transportation.
Need some clarification: back in January, Governor McKee proposed $126.6 million for RIPTA in the state budget, right? Does that total include the $50 million in annual state funding, before the General Assembly added another $15 million in June?

@govdanmckee.bsky.social needs to find the $$ to fund @ripta.com and then step out of @zagush.bsky.social way and let him make route change decisions.
Zone-baced pricing? Itβs Rhode Island and the bus network only covers like 1/4 of it! The whole thing is like half a zone!

Maybe Sydney Sweeney will be the new spokesmodel for Apple.
