Registered mail is also suspended from many countries, and is subject to the exact same rules around tariffs as regular mail. Some couriers are also suspending some services (eg DHL)

Big update to our public Hollows reference materials today. Re-reading the changelog is always fun

There may also be other additional rates applied to specific categories of goods. I figure most people on Bluesky aren't importing low value parcels of copper or potash, but then what do I know, live your best lives. If you've got specific questions feel free to @ me & I'll try and share what I know

This is the IEEPA tariff rate, so for other countries it'll be different - the EU rate is currently 15%, for instance. I've been looking for a doc that breaks down the actual tariff rate by territory of origin of goods and literally everything I can find is out of date, but I'll keep looking.

On that PDDP service, senders will pay postal charges at the old rate +50p per parcel, plus any additional tariffs and duties. As I've said upthread books & some other items are exempt, but for most things made in the UK, there will be 10% tariff charged as a % of the declared value of the goods.

In the UK, the best approach for small business I am currently aware of is the new Royal Mail PDDP service mentioned upthread - info here www.royalmail.com/usabusinessu... - which says the new service should be available from Thursday. Other countries: I am not an expert & probably shouldn't advise.

Postal services around the world suspend deliveries to US: how will it affect you?
Suspensions including from Australia and Europe come after Donald Trump removed a rule exempting parcels worth less than US$800 from his tariffs
