The right ridicules “woke,” a pretty simple word that they willfully misunderstand. Based on who gets committee chairs or leadership roles, the far left has little power in the Dem Party. I do find language policing annoying, but I only hear it from academics and people in deep-Blue enclaves.

As a lefty voter for the past 40 years, I have had to eat issues that are important to me — anti-death penalty, pro-choice, pro-LGBTQ (I’m L; my daughter’s T); pro-union— and vote for the Dem who barely touched the topics cuz the Rep was actively working against those interests.
