I've never understand "woke is ruining comedy" coz just...watch the comedians you like then. Stop watching the ones you don't like who are all woke n that. Watch your faves, often on Netflix or in massive venues live. They're all there, doing their little jokes you agree with.
This whole thing of them saying “comedy has to challenge you” but they only understand punching down and offending people who aren’t in the room for cheap laughs.
Comedy doesn’t have to challenge me, it just needs to be funny stories!

The most challenging comedian I've ever seen is Bill Bailey. He'll start doing his bit about putting popular songs into minor keys and I, a tone-deaf wanker who once did Grade 1 cello, have to pretend to understand this until he goes back to stories about poking Sir Paul McCartney in the eye.
