What is Putin’s allure for Trump? Trump is now the leader of the richest, most powerful country in human history. Russia is a middling, declining power (albeit with nuclear weapons). To me that suggests Russia does have dirt on Trump that must be so bad Trump has to toady up.

Enten applies no analysis and doesn’t synthesize things across time. It’s just what the numbers say at the moment he is reporting on them. And because people view polling and “numbers” as scientific he is imbued with some intelligence and authority he does not deserve.

Cannot be “unity”. The Republican Party, and its stalwart voters, is a cancer on America. Has there ever been a country that has managed reconciliation w/out major war/conflict that forces capitulation by the loser? Cleansing America of Trumpism is not far from cleansing Germany of Nazism post WW2.

There were far more Dems unwilling to commit to enshrining Roe into law than Manchin/Sinema though they were the most outspoken. For any meaningful action you’d need 51 Democrats all of whom would be willing to end the filibuster to reform the Court. That is a tall order in 2026 or 2029. Let’s see.

Are you talking about Republicans or Democrats? Bc Republicans would be happy to welcome an overturn of Obergefell. Democrats did nothing about the court when Biden was president, and that was after it overturned Roe. Your statement is true in the abstract but divorced from current reality.
