His followers are going to push this as far as they have to in order to get their way; they're quite willing to take us to civil war. Will we take the dare & meet the moment? Long term we can win, but short term it's going to be ugly and probably violent.

All very good ideas in this pre-Civil War 2 phase of our history. Dem govs should be gaming out the possibilities with their staffs and Dem administrations in other states. It is easy to imagine Coup 2 connected to the national elections next year and seating a Dem House of Reps.

Re the last week of sparring: What Mr. Nichols' critics don't seem aware of is that he has been trashing Trump for almost 10 yrs. Meanwhile, the nastiness of the critics' remarks unwittingly proves one of the points that Mr. Nichols is trying to make, namely, lefty intolerance is self-defeating.

The successful Dem candidate for president might have to replicate Clinton's Sister Souljah moment. It will require the diplomatic skill of an Obama. But without the "moment," it is so easy to imagine a Dem Convention going very badly very fast, & with that, the election.

Absolutely, criticism of the MSM should be part of the counter-attack by the Dems. Republicans have successfully worked the MSM refs & Dems let them do it out of respect for the MSM. Enough. The MSM is partly responsible for getting us where we are; clearly it is ok with things getting worse.

I'm thinking that AI basically vacuumed up my work and that of every other author out there. I was wondering, what recourse do I have? I'd love to see a class action lawsuit and I'd love to be a part of it.

If we survive as a Republic, the NeverTrumpers will be an important reason for it. The ones I see posting and writing have been great.

And criticism where criticism is due: "Trump Plays Reality TV Host at Marathon Cabinet Meeting." And it goes downhill from there. The NYT seems to be bipolar.

I just listened to a podcast about a successful French resistance operation during WW2 in Algiers on the eve of Operation Torch. There was a full spectrum of participants, including royalists & communists.who all worked comfortably together against the Vichy government. Pragmatism, not purity, wins.
