One of my earliest cricket memories is him and Bill Lawry opening the Aussie batting. Just been writing about that period.

As just seen on my old school FB page. "I remember that hole in the fence. We would sneak out at lunchtime and go to Janet Albone's house for a scéance."

The only acceptable answer to 'can I get' is 'no, could you stay on that side of the counter please? I'll get it for you. That's what I'm here for.'

Whatever else you think of me, friendly or foeful, rest assured that I will never ever use the word gotten.

Do watch this on the I-Player if you missed it. It was captivating. I heard elements of Alice Coltrane, Joe Harriott's Indo-Jazz in the second section, even Danny Thompson imaginary bass lines weaving away later on. All this on a balmy sweet pea scented evening with the windows wide open.
Utterly enraptured by this Anoushka Shankar Prom. Just what my soul needed after a somewhat turbulent day.

See "everything else too".
Probably one of the weirdest things about modern film writing is younger writers questioning things that happened in the past (a good thing!) but then relying entirely on internet sources and never cracking open an actual book or looking up old magazine and newspaper articles

Well that's quite the most beautiful thing I've heard at the Proms in some time. Her father would have been so proud.

It is. I'm spellbound.
