  1. I’m with you. Manuals are for others. But whatever you do don’t ever take one apart as the capacitors are big buggers and will give you a dangerous shock.

  2. I managed to work out some presets on mine, then a friend was staying and asked me how to heat things up just on the microwave function....I didn't even know where the button was. 😳

  3. Our microwave is 6 years old & the last 3 years we've complained about the Start & Stop touchpad's plastic cover, it's stretched & opaque, we can't tell which button is which. My husband, in a fit of pique, today tore it off. It was the protective shipping wrap! Untouched surface underneath! 🙄

  4. Mrs Tony wanted some grilled cheese on toast and I just said “Do it in the microwave!” She gave me THAT look, y’know, the one perfected by cats and women 🙄 I calmly led her to the microwave, pressed the button clearly marked GRILL and 5 minutes later it was ready. I don’t think she has forgiven me

  5. Whatever you do, don’t overcook microwave popcorn (brought by niece, not me!) - the burn smell is awful. Why anyone wouldn’t want to make popcorn in a covered pan, I don’t know, especially with a glass lid, such fun! 🍿

  6. When I was younger, and much stupider (yup, I'm owning that shit!), I managed to get our microwave door to burst open, because I'd stupidly cooked eggs in there without piercing the shell first. Nearly died of fright when the microwave door nearly blew off its hinges!! 🫣😬😂 My needs are simpler now.

  7. We have just the most basic microwave for this reason. Unfortunately, when we replaced the last one we went too basic - lesson learned for that too (no display to show exactly how many seconds / minutes). One day we will get it right.

  8. I’ve used the combi function once but it took so long to look up how to use it I never did again.

And I’ve used it as an ordinary oven a couple of times!

Don’t even use the microwave function that often.

  9. I am the manual reader 🙄 But usually there’s a syntax with these things. Press the button to select the heating method that isn’t microwave. Keep pressing it while it cycles through the heat setting. Set the timer. Press start. They all do variations on this.
