What I'm saying is that Toriyama absolutely had more freedom as THE GUY compared to anyone afterward who's told to IMITATE him, which is hella stifling and limited. And some senior artist over there deserves that level freedom to move it all forward.

Anybody good enough to replicate a Toriyama look probably can make some new rad shit if you let them. So let them.
They got so many skilled people over there.

I wonder alot where Dragon Quest as a franchise will go visually from this point forward, and I hope it doesn't fall into a rut of only superficially copying Toriyama's design style and refusing to explore.
