The real question is why are 9th and 10th graders being picked up by their parents?
But sure, whatever. Why would 9th and 10th graders need an easy and prompt way to communicate pickup schedule changes with their parents? Its extremely easy to take off work, wait in traffic, and then learn kid won’t be out for another hour
Broken transportation system and road network hostile to human life. We live in a hell of our own making where teenagers become inert packages that need full time delivery systems or a parental chauffeur

In 8th grade I walked home, in 9th grade I took a city bus home from school, and in 10th grade I went to high school pretty far away and took commuter rail including a transfer.
because the school Superintendent bought 100 acres away from town making bus programs too expensive so Syrians were built to accommodate drivers but no bike/ped infrastructure was part of the plan?
I sympathize with your question, but schools are nowadays located far from anything, like mall sites, even in the northeast USA. Bus service often not offered.
