The only practical benefit I can see to this press op is reenforcing the shitlib notion that the far right and "far" left are virtually the same, but they're gonna harangue on their horseshoe bullshit no matter what, so I doubt this really pushes that needle

In the course of easing federal pressure from New York, Mamdani shook up a lot of GOP propaganda with that press op, and Trump's people are megaphoning it like they got one over on him. I'm always incredibly wary of any politician, but this just looks like incredibly brilliant political maneuvering.

I think this is one of the most vital grounding exercises to engage

Honestly, I think all that happened is that Trump is easily charmed, and he's gotten so used to dealing with losers that have absolutely no charisma that he was just happy to feel like his old socialite self. I mean he always just looks so bored and tired now. Like being back on old social circuit.

once again joining the many people who have observed how much of a world-historical problem it is that Trump is so fucking funny
Q: Are you affirming that you think President Trump is a fascist?
MAMDANI: I've spoken about--
TRUMP: That's okay. You can just say yes. I don't mind.

Americans are murdered daily for profit but yeah okay this seems like a good thing for the government to devote time and resources

I do not believe in the providing the benefit of the doubt to anyone with power, but just as a thought, what if Greene got in over her head and learned something so horrible that she just lost her taste for being a fascist stooge?
I don't believe that. Just a thought I had.

People learn through practice and challenge; not by receiving answers.
But a deeper problem is that an essential aspect of teaching is helping someone organize their thinking in new ways. LLMs — systems which cannot think or appreciate thinking — are incapable of doing this in a meaningful way.
Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other.

One of the hardest things to get people to accept is how ALL of this ties back to climate change. Techno-feudalism, global fascism, infrastructural degradation, widespread nihilism, etc. It's all a response to increasing instability. Capitalism can't sustain itself, so it self-cannibalizes.
