The good news is that it usually doesn’t end well for Kings/Queens/Emperors/Pharaohs/Dictators/Oligarchs who hoard too many riches, and don’t care about the welfare of the common people.

History is on our side.

  1. Yes, the French killed there Royalty, which led to citizenship, of which you all enjoy in the US to this very day. The Statue of Liberty comes proof of a history you all seem to have forgotten. "Blood is freedom's stain".

  4. The above is a victim narrative.

Hoping/coping that our past will be our future is allowing and enabling the abusers to continue exploiting.

We are responsible for letting the addicts run the asylum. We could stop projecting blame and take some.

  6. We need to take a page out of French history when their upper class got way too greedy, similar to what's now happening here. They got their heads cut off. Sounds good to me.

  8. Yes these people fall hard and often in unpleasant ways but the damage they do before that happens can be catastrophic. I would argue it has already been catastrophic in ways that may not be evident right away. The sad thing is we live in a country with a constitution that should have prevented this

  9. Things look bleak. This is hard. All of that is true. But it's also true that we are on the right side of history and what we're fighting for is WORTH fighting for. If you feel discouraged, take some time away from the fray, refuel, and come back stronger. We can do this!

  10. Also TIME is on our side. Chanting for SWIFT JUSTICE for all these lawless politicians. Justice not meted out by frail men, but justice dispensed by heavenly intervention or whatever cosmic force equalizes the imbalances of power.

  11. Yeah. But look what the world has had to go through to get the part where it doesn't end well. We need to avoid that and depose them before it gets any worse.

  12. The bad news is they can gonfpr decade before things fall apart for them, and usually long after things fell apart for everyone else. Nonetheless, we gotta try.

  16. Except it's only recent history where Authoritarians had this much firepower and technological expertise on their side. We really don't know how this will turnout yet. We have to be out there.

  18. Hard agree. The collateral damage in disposing of these creatures is huge, however.

It's still fun to imagine suitable ends for the twats though.

  21. Yeah?

Saddam Hussein was in power for 24 years.

Putin has been in power for 25 years.

Muammar Qaddafi was in power for 42 years.

This is optimism that doesn't take reality of the length of cruel dictatorships into account.

  22. I agree in theory, but there’s also an axiom that when civilizations keep burying more and more wealth with their leaders they inevitably collapse.

(I think Swiss bank accounts and yachts count as burying these days)

  23. History is on our side because there are people who have the courage to resist autocracy, and eventually people who become so desperate that they have no choice but to do so. Hoping there are enough of the former to make the change before the latter become a necessity.

  27. Yeah, but global warming and genocidal wars are not. Hitler had a 12 year run. Mussolini: 21 years. Stalin: 29. Putin: 25 years. Kim Jong-il and Jong-un: 34 yrs. Pinochet: 17 yrs. Etc.

Sorry, I don't think we realize the danger we're in.

  29. True but as history shows, sometimes it takes centuries for dictatorships to be toppled. I remain hopeful but am losing patience right now. Trump has destroyed so much, not sure anything will ever be the same in my lifetime.

  30. I can assure you thats correct, but theres enough thieving, grifting Trumps, to keep the scams rolling for years. Once good old dad has that massive infark, you know, the one where a Big Mac clogs up his arteries or maybe he inhales one, and everyone just looks @ him, rubbing their hands together.
