  1. I stand corrected. The Fairness Doctrine had significant weaknesses and may not have influenced old-school reporters like Walter Cronkite as much as I imagined. Maybe we can kill two birds with one stone then by holding those purporting to provide "news" to a new, stronger Fairness standard.

  2. Love this. America's inablity to think critically is the root cause of our current problems. For better or worse, our ability to make informed decisions is reliant on The Media. The FCC Fairness Doctrine used to ensure this was trustworthy, but was discontinued by Republicans in 1987.

  3. Eh...okay Trump is a creep, criminal, and unrepentant sex offender. BUT, be careful assuming photos of someone cuddling with their daughter is somehow "disgusting" as if proof of wrong-doing. He might have trafficked his daughter with Epstein, or he could just really adore and be proud of her.

  4. In Rachel's 10 Nov episode, by contrast, you can't get 10 min in without her citing specific actions, numbers, events, and quotes that can all be verified. While Conservative shows seem to be flooded with sophomoric half-truths and spin, I haven't found the same to be true of Rachel's show.

  5. For example, in the current show, host Peter Schweizer states that California has piled on environmental regulations on housing to keep people renting. A quick Google of environmental requirements shows this is for new housing/major reno and makes homes more efficient/cheaper to own.
