  1. I mean, you can get knee pads to protect your decaying bones as you beg for scraps on the floor. You could kiss his ass with obvious compliments, go for more subtle ass kissing or surprise him with free gold plated shit while ass kissing. Many options.

  3. This is why you need to wipe clean your side if y'all plan to have any future after this... if there is an after this.

It's rotten, all the way to the core and through to the outside too.

  4. I am BEGGING people to READ articles like this before posting their pearl-clutching posts about them.

I swear if someone posted an excerpt of "A Modest Proposal" to Bluesky a ton of folks would be like "I knew it! The corrupt media want us to feed our children to the rich!"

  6. Why is this even a debate for discussion? What is not discussed is that higher education In this country falls short in filling consumer demand for a better career, let alone get that training for free or low cost. Yet again, the NYT falls short of the mark.

  7. I keep hearing the closing lyrics sung at ball games.... '...and the home of the brave' Freedom to watch sports, fight racism, marry whom we want, live where we choose, fair wages and everything we do on any given day requires a nation of brave citizens--not spineless appeasers.

  10. W T F! The New York Times is writing itself right OUT OF BUSINESS. I don't know a single person who subscribes to it because of its OBVIOUS BIAS toward the Republican FASCIST party and its complicity. They are just more spineless FASCIST-ENALBERS.

  11. Smug elitists like them do not care what happens to democracy, nor most of the American population. They'll just leave -- as they have the resources to do so -- if civil society truly collapses.

  13. The only thing to do against a bully is to unite and refuse everything together. In one-to-one relationship, the bully wins, but if you refuse all together he loses.

  14. Is there some way to anti-subscribe to the Times? Like make them pay me every month to live in the same timeline as this embarrassing garbage?

  15. No, universities of all places should NOT โ€œmake a dealโ€ with Trump which is conceding to his discriminatory demands. They need to hold the line and close temporarily if they canโ€™t function without federal grants. I would NEVER send my kids to a University that bent the knee.

  16. "Iโ€™m sympathetic to the argument from conservatives that there is now a law that says schools canโ€™t use the old version of affirmative action, and I think many conservatives suspect that schools are cheating. Maybe itโ€™s not just conservatives who suspect that. I think many people suspect that."

  17. Yeah cede power to a fascist lunatic who just used his office to grift $1 Billion in taxpayers money to steal Airforce 1 after he leaves office? Can't believe the media is abdicating their responsibility to the public.

  18. Thanks for screenshotting the bylines, not just the headline, so that we can easily see who (David Leonhardt, Binyamin Appelbaum, Emily Bazelon, Jillian Weinberger) joined a public discussion of whether educators should cede power to bigots and rapists
