Also, if the recent LGBT related cases are any indication, the majority's brain is so cooked on right wing internet nonsense that I doubt their ability to gauge actual popular opinion. They'll do it and be surprised they aren't hailed as heroes. Remember the "president is above the law" opinion.

I mean I would not put it past them. Maybe not within a year. But within 2? 3? If they stick to the same course, I think there's a very real chance this happens. We're kidding ourselves if we think they really care about popular opinion or "legitimacy" anymore. This is smash and grab time.

Not a book and not comprehensive in re the politics of the last few years, but SPLC's CAPTAIN report is pretty good in re the development and proliferation of anti-LGBT pseudoscience, which is a pretty significant component of what's going on.

Went to buy some rock climbing gear which is mostly manufactured in Asia and Europe. Prices have gone up 30% pretty much across the board. I know this for a fact because I had an old price list laying around from 2 years ago.

The people who listen to fucking Megyn Kelly, Ted Nugent, and Shawn Ryan already have a party. They will not vote for you no matter what. Meanwhile, I - an otherwise loyal Dem voter - also see this and think I will not vote for you no matter what.
I don’t know if Newsom, Shapiro and Rahm are idiots, but this is an idiotic strategy.
