One of the very first things we need to do in the post-Trump era is make it illegal to run under the GOP party. Make room for a new progressive party or two.
Centrist dems will fill the space that the GOP leaves behind just fine, trust. But we won't get shit done if the GOP can persist.

the thing everyone is going to have to accept is that the post-trump period, whenever it comes, will not and cannot be a project of national unity, it must be a project of partisan project of renewal, in the same way that reconstruction and the new deal were partisan projects of renewal.

There are probably GOP who want to impeach.
But why would GOP who may want to impeach EVER vote for it unless they knew that ALL of the Dems were ready to vote 'yes' as many times as it took?
Once again asking Congress to stand the fuck up for its rights. Article I only means something if they uphold it. Continuing to let a deranged, demented, despotic president to arrogate their power serves no one but the president. Fucking DO something.
I'm well aware of the obstacles to impeachment but every member of congress should still be screaming for it given that the president's main job is to enforce the laws they pass and he is constantly telling them to eat shit!
If we're EVER going to be able to impeach and remove presidents for gross abuses of power ever again, we have to do it for the things Trump is doing. Or else every tyrant to come will know how astonishingly far the line is now: they'll just have to creep up on it, like Trump is doing.

Whatever story Dems are telling themselves about why it's smart politics to avoid impeachment talk is, imo, ultimately harmful. It's one of the few remedies for a lawless president and this president is more deserving of it than any other. Assert your constitutional role, worry about the rest later
