  1. Yes! Get a library card. It’s easy to use the Libby app w/ Library card & read all these magazines with paywalls. It’s an excellent resource. I have 2 library cards! And there is nothing like reading a juicy novel! Escape for a bit; it is essential in these times.

  2. 54-56% of all adults in this country “read at or below a 6th grade level “ At or below a 10 or 11 year old Think about that A 10 or 11 year old can’t apply critical thinking Because critical thinking is only possible when you have the ability to read, comprehend, research, debate & communicate well

  4. Our kids got their first library cards when they were babies. Used them every week for years to get whoever books they wanted…

The oldest is entering college next month and his high school literature teacher said he was the most well-read of all her students. ♥️

  6. My library doesn't have cards. They just tell you your number when you join and then you remember it. It's like being in a secret club and I love it. (But I agree with OP, get a library card)

  11. You can also get an online library card without ever having to go inside and then use it through Libby! That’s how I’ve been doing it since I can’t travel to mine!

I have a library APP so I can check books out with my phone.

AND it includes a subscription to the Oxford English Dictionary.

  13. Have had one for years.

Strange thing, though. I live in the 6th wealthiest county in the country, and our public libraries are nowhere near as good as those in the poorer county down the road.

  18. Good idea. Books don’t track your clicking and hovering… And libraries won’t send you ads for online pharmacies, when you read something about STD’s...
