I was able to accurately predict how badly and quickly America would devolve under this administration, but what I really can't predict is if enough Americans will take action as opposed to staying comfortable and covering their ears and eyes, before it's too late to do anything meaningful at all.

I think you’ve answered your own question. We are seeing the collapse of America. Not nearly enough outrage or organized pushback from those who say they ‘didn’t vote for this’

It is a real fear, for sure. I hope we all wake up before, as you say, it's too late to do anything about it. I think we should be marching & protesting every day, boycotting the sponsors of Fox News & actually calling for a nationwide strike. I am going to a protest in my own town tomorrow.

  3. If you could stop it from affecting the rest of us, that would be nice. I imagine it will be the same as always, once it hits the hip pocket nerve, things will liven up. And for every person who is politely or physically injured, it will be multiplied by their friends' and family numbers.

  4. Given a lot of thought to that, myself. Cell phones and computers have taken many of us off the playing field, having robbed us of our ability to discern the truth of a thing. Coupled with the active effort to divide the nation and supplant what is, with what will never really be and it appears to

  5. You accurateñy predicted who would win. Did you not see, how the ghouls were working in the dark to rig the outcome in Trumps favor?

  6. I think a lot are sitting back expecting someone else to fix it for them. They’re the kind of people who don’t vote.

  7. Hitler took two months from winning an election to his total takeover.

Trump is looking positively lethargic by comparison.

But so is his opposition, Democratic leaders are writing strongly worded letters while Democratic politicians are shot in their homes.

  8. Same. Same... Americans seem to be waiting for someone to 'do something' still which is concerning as no one is coming to save them. That's the whole thing with the second amendment. No country is going to invade to take over. The UN doesn't even intervene in genocides. Canada might cut power.

  9. They won't have a choice. We are in what I call phase 2 of Civil War 2.0. In this phase Trump supporters will slowly turn on Trump & eventually go to a shooting war with him. The tariffs will hit them the hardest.

  10. An old Cherokee told his grandson, “My son, there is a battle between two wolves within us all. One is evil. It is anger, jealousy, lies and ego. The other is good. It is joy, peace, empathy and truth.” The boy asked, “Grandfather, which wolf wins?” “The one you feed.” A’ho🪶

  11. I did boy scouts as a child, and my impression was America was a community oriented place where people generally looked out for each other and worked together for a greater good

Now it’s fundamentally a selfish society

  12. Impressive credentials. I'm just a thoughtful jerk, but I share your wonder. One guy, Moxon I think, compared it to being at the top of a tall bldg that's on fire, being informed of that, and then just going back to work or whatever.

We should have been angry in the streets awhile ago.

  13. I believe you just asked the one question that the rest of the world has been asking for months now. Will Americans sleep walk into fascism?

  14. It's already too late. No matter how many Americans say "No more!" the MECHANISMS for removing Trump no longer work. We have no constitutional checks-and-balances because the legislature and judiciary now serve Trump, and the rule of law is moot because the courts do not enforce their rulings.

  15. I think for at least the past 15 years, internal war is inevitable. I think as far back as occupy Wall Street. Between greed, Trump, AI, fall of our social safety net next year and potential hospital closures, it’s on. People just haven’t realized it yet.

    0
  16. The latter, clearly. There is no opposition leadership. Chuck Schumer is guiding Democrats to accept it all without a fight.

  17. the people lining the streets in DC last night were doing what they could do....those who bring legal suits against this action, will be doing what they can do. the Democrats fighting for the election are doing what they can do.

  18. It’s going down fast and furious under the Trump administration. People have to stand up speak out show up, resist inform resistance groups, and call your senator and congressman and make them know how you feel make it clear. They’re gonna be leaving office if they continue to support Trump.

  19. Americans are too willfully ignorant and brainwashed with the exceptionalism myth to do anything. Ask the average guy on the street and you'll find that they don't have a clue about what's really happening. They all subscribe to the "ignorance is bliss" philosophy.

  20. What are we supposed to do?? Where is the plan? Any plan? Where is a leader? We are all flopping around like fish out of water. We need some direction not just "stand on the corner with a sign" or "don't buy anything on Friday". There is no coordinated effort to jump onboard with.

    0
  21. They will not. We as a country have been indoctrinated with the idea that the government is untouchable by the common man. However, we don't need these weak, entitled fellow citizens. All we need is a small contingent with the right coordinator and determination to stop this.

  22. Yeah, it appears to be in your psyche - you won’t worry about it until it becomes Pearl Harbour.

  23. I predicted it, but not the speed. What happened in 6 months I thought would take a year.

That means the rest of it will happen faster. For that reason, I would now start giving self-defense and military training to all women so they can fight when the loss of freedoms, rights, and autonomy hits.

  24. That is because like Epstein Trump probably sent his minions to pick on scheduled trash day on everybody in the government/world? so he has plenty of dirt with which to blackmail them into complying. It's as simple as that.

    0
  25. Sadly I think it's the latter. Not enough people are engaged or understand that everything that's happening now WILL affect them in some way and only then, when it's far, far too late will they wonder how this happened and which women to blame

  26. What should we do what would be effective? I've protested. I've donated to the ACLU and Democracy Forward. I'm not sure what's effective except wait it out. What can we do?

  27. What we are experiencing is has been in the making at least since 2008. They just needed the right “mandarin” to rally their troops. It will take a unified, coordinated effort to make significant change and that won’t happen until enough people snap out of their comfortable ecosystems.

  28. CAN WE PLEASE start referring to the Trump administration as the Turd Reich? Not gonna stop 'til this name goes viral. #TurdReich

  29. Dems need leadership. Prtizker and Newsom are moving into the position, but we need to press on every single rep to move in line. America is under siege, not by Trump but the deep state behind him - and too many dems are still playing politics.

  30. I know so many people who are Trumplicans. You can't even ask them why. They give me "the look" and I won't pursue it. I have tried to explain why I disagree, and I may as well have been talking to my dog. I'm scared.

  31. Apparently having a felon run rampant over scientific achievement, surrounding himself with misogynistic syncophants, nominating complete incompetents to major govt roles, demanding undeserved accolades and pretty much denying America's history doesn't seem to be having much of an effect.

  32. Protests on the sidewalks won't do it. To get attention, we must inconvenience people. Like in NYC when they suggested that drivers turn left to avoid the check point. Or in LA (I think) where men with guns, legal guns blocked the street. There is so much more we can do. Meanwhile...

  33. People are starting to realize what’s really going on, thanks to iCE. In addition to Trump, Noem, and Kennedy, Tom Homan is one of the scariest and most bigoted people on the planet.

  34. Unless each branch of government and federal agencies stop acting for POTUS and start acting to protect the constitution it's already too late for a peaceful transition of power.

It is not like the movies where a rally cry echoes through the masses and everyone rises up. In reality, it feels like a "at least its not me" syndrome where people will ignore that bad stuff going on because it does not affect them in the slightest.

    Help thy fellow man? Puhlease.

  36. I think it's the latter because Americans are basically lazy. All of this BS is too much for them to handle so they'll just cover their eyes and ears and hope for the best

  37. The big question for many Americans is whether anything Trump does will make it hard to get their new iPhone.

  38. As long as the water runs when they turn a tap, the lights come on when they flip a switch and there is gas in the tank so they can chase their busy asses, no, they will not look up and see what has happened.

  39. All of the people quiet now will awaken from their proverbial slumber when we get a D Pres. For many they don't like a "dictator", just their dictator

    0
  40. They will not. Americans are lazy and selfish. Most won't care until it directly negatively impacts them or their close family members. You can't even get people to cancel a Paramount+ subscription as its too much of a personal sacrifice.

  42. American collective action networks have nearly completely broken down. People arent covering eyes / ears, they just are trying to survive, and dont have time to organize or dont know otherwise what to do.

  43. That's the problem, right, that we're barraged with so much bad news that it feels like it's already too late. We need sources that are more measured. I've been panicked about the Supreme Court and gay marriage, but right now they haven't actually taken it up. We need hope too, and tangible action.

  44. Americans are taking actions but to a tone deaf GOP who doesn’t pay the price at the ballot box we’re the reason the GOP are now full fledged FASCISTS.

  45. What do you suggest people do? Congress caved, SCOTUS caved, wealthy business leaders and universities caved, DOJ, FBI, DHS and military are all under authoritarian control. Elections are being Gerrymandered and courts/litigation are slow. What's left beside general strikes and armed resistance?

  46. I've been wondering what the avg citizen CAN do.

I've asked on here and no response

    Voting and protesting isn't enough.

I've done both. However, SOMEthing drastic seems to be called for

We need to get dirtier than the fuckers and get ahead of their crap & keep it legal, of course

  49. What, for you is the most abhorrent act that he and his regime have done thus far that you cannot live with? Yet, you are still living so what will it take? What rights you have now are you willing to lose as his regime continues thrashing us into being like Russia or Turkey. American talibandits.

  50. I am unable to predict that as well. But I think there is a lot of reason to hope that things will go differently than they did with other nations, simply due to the proliferation of social media.

  51. What can we do? It's Congress and the Supreme Court were supposed to be our check on the executive branch. The republicans are the problem by allowing trump to ignore the law and constitution. We are doing what we can except for going on general strikes or huge boycott days. Money is their god.
