It is quite clearly going to be based on Swift's dismay at the fact that HS2 isn't going to reach Manchester.

I found myself in the gallery for PMQs the day the '24 GE was called.
Whilst notable in and of itself, a year later I am starting to think that I am going to have an incredibly nerdy "I was there" story if it does turn out that Sunak becomes their last ever PM.

It is clear that it is a far more foundational issue with a lack of direction and understanding as to what Labour is wanting to be.
My comment was more related to one way it manifests to the public.

They are attempting the strategy of printing one policy announcement in the Guardian and another in the Telegraph to cover all bases, completely forgetting that social media exists.

Occasionally I am reminded about how John Lewis became a living wage employer by sacking all of its cleaners and outsourcing the (still low paying) jobs to another company.
Want to use rich people like me to your advantage? Incent us to help those who need it the most. Lower corp taxes for comps that pay a min of $25 per hour. Lower corp taxes if employees get stock at the same pct as the CEO.
Bottom up incentives work. Dems never innovate. They bitch

To never try because failure is assumed shouldn't be the course of action, but to assume that policy around wealth and the wealthy will work exactly as the theory and calculations predict is also foolish.
They don't get to that position without a level of intelligence and professional support.

Pre-GE his benefit electorally was either minimal or negative to Labour, in my opinion.
Post-GE, the fact that he can point to popular things and say "I did that" may generate some support that another candidate might not. May allow for differentiation from the wider Labour brand.

He is more likely than not, in my opinion, going to stand down.
It will either be ego or "Brand Khan" helping them nudge over the line that will make him stay on.
-
Khan will wait as long as possible to "decide".
See how the locals go next year, see how the polling changes into '27 then either dip or run again.
I would still price in a Labour victory but purely because the number of transfers will be low.
