I've seen a few folk on the right on twitter a while ago claim that conservative does not mean capitalist and I thought that was pretty interesting, there does seem to be an effort to actually regress, which sits awkwardly with the embrace of AI etc.

I heard plenty from our political leadership, they seemed to mostly support the protests. The pretence that Labour have somehow opposed, or intended to oppose Farage on this issue is laughable.

I’ve seen basically zero effort to explain why all of this concerted, intensely focused repressive action has been necessary. Important people will defend individual bits of it but nobody will explain why a full-court press has been required to enforce discipline in this one singular instance.
A cause so just we must sack TV presenters, ruthlessly police journalists, politicians and universities, ban entire social media platforms and restrict content, jail protestors as terrorists, destroy the humanitarian aid agencies and replace them with mercenaries then dismantle the United Nations

As relayed to a dear friend just now, I'm getting very tired of the entirety of British discourse about what constitutes a 'normative' social sphere being dictated by some of the most misanthropic and antisocial people a society is capable of producing.
