Breaking news: A federal judge is giving Florida 60 days to clear out the immigrant detention facility called Alligator Alcatraz. The ruling forbids state officials from moving any other migrants there.

This has become an all to common scene in the National Parks and USFS recreation areas.
DOGE cuts have severely impacted recreation on public lands. Overgrown trails will be reclaimed by nature. Pit toilets buried in trash will still be buried come spring's thaw.

I read a book about women slave owners and how they treated the enslaved children. There is a particularly brutal early chapter and I think I dissociated for the rest of the day.
If anyone is curious, it was this one. We shouldn't pretend away our history because it is hard to hear about.
The maddest someone has ever gotten at me was when I talked about the child sized manacles Jefferson had at Monticello for 9 year old children. They could not cope with the idea that a child the same age as their child had been enslaved. And it made them angry that I made them know facts
