I agree it's going to be hard, but Germany has regained a lot of respect in the world after WWII, even though they are still most remembered for starting both WWI & WWII. The U.S. will always be remembered as the nation that shit on themselves.

Will require a major rewriting of our laws, imo. Including Constitutional changes to ensure in clear B&W, not leaving to SCOTUS interpretation, what powers the executive has & doesn't have. And, ethics with teeth, term limits & mandatory retirement age to ALL elected & appointed, including SCOTUS.

This isn't necessarily true. Germany and Japan are respected in the world today. The past isn't forgotten, but years of consistent behavior in a positive direction matters. We have a lot of work to do to defeat Trumpism and rebuild our national character and institutions, but hope isn't lost.

The United States is the 3rd largest nation by population and 3rd or 4th by land area. We are having a bout of fascism, but we will overcome it and return stronger.
