    People were comparing it to the Volkssturm recruiting posters from Nazi Germany. That’s correct. But also those Volkssturm posters recruited young and old because the Nazis were becoming increasingly desperate.

    There are a zillion law enforcement vacancies in the country right now, the NYPD is desperate for new officers to join a force with a strong union who generally won't be forced to do things that their grandchildren will be ashamed of

    This is why I wasn't as worried about the 'ICE will be the largest police force' headlines as others

    Its definitely bad and people who shouldnt be government agents are going to get in. I just dont see a large surge in people who want to do this, at least enough to be a sizeable, nationwide force

    Accidentally applied to ICE (for a creative role) back in early 2019. Withdrew my application, but could not get that HR dept. to stop calling me back. Never experienced anything like that in the job market, before or since.
