    He's not a killer. He's not a criminal. He's a high school student.

    He overstayed his visa.

He wants to be part of America.

  2. Bastards! The cruelty is the point! I hope the law will catch up to these agents and throw them to the slammer! Such bullies and lawbreakers!

  3. People at risk are going to have to start moving about on an as needed basis in secret compartments of cars. Volunteers needed for this underground railroad. Kids at risk will need to finish their schooling online. People at risk will need to hide out at unknown addresses. Fascism is here.

  4. If ICE just executed it's agenda professionally it would still be disturbing, but all the malevolent add-ons show that this about way more than just detainment and deportation.

The quality of people they have employed to this is bottom of the barrel.

  5. When this is over, there needs to be punishment for all the people involved in ICE. Including the Bush Administration that created it.

  6. I feel incredibly naive for not recognizing how many people get literal joy from being needlessly, ostentatiously cruel, and how many of them are being paid with taxpayers' money. Like, I knew these people existed -- I just didn't think there were so many of them.

  7. I’m currently dogsitting a pooch I barely like (she’s insane and barks at nothing and I can barely get any sleep) and if anyone treated her like this I would feed them face-first into a wood chipper.

Casual animal cruelty is a well-known marker of psychopathy. Naturally, these thugs delight in it.

  8. In the stories on @reichlinmelnick.bsky.social timeline today:

a story about right wing outrage (w death threats) over the death of an illegal pet squirrel owned by a gun-loving grifter

    AND

a story about how ICE thugs tackle a guy walking his dog, then leave the animal running loose in the road.

  9. Essentially that’s like throwing a dog out of a car on the 405. I’d rather have a discussion about the abducted teen whose mom was beyond distraught. Or the 54 yo father killed on the 210 trying to flee ICE. This is not caring about families

  10. Yeah, that was the line that got me too. Says everything about their connection to any sense of life and empathy. And this boy - and other really dangerous criminal amirite? #authoritarians

  11. Unleashing a dog is the same as discharging a weapon. I’ve owned German shepherds my whole life.

  12. This is so so sad. Not even animals are safe. They are innocent in all of this as well. My heart goes out to this fearful young man.

  13. That strikes me as them wanting to appear like they tied it up and it got loose later, when what they actually did was let it free to it’d get hit by a car or lost

  14. They abducted a child and then set his dog off, imagine the trauma this boy endured, and then the conditions he is living in.

Does anyone know whether the dog was corralled? And whether there are any images of the agents (or whoever they were)?

Only plausible explanation for setting the dog loose is to inflict more trauma on an 18 year old kid. Sick behavior.

  16. How do these people live with themselves? This is needlessly cruel, dangerous (high potential to cause accidents on a busy road), and traumatizing. That poor boy isn’t a criminal. Their utter lack of humanity and compassion sickens me.

  17. That’s a busy fucking area. Hope the dog is ok. Hope the kid has been released. These fucking goons need to be brought to justice just like the Nazis that were just following order

  18. That's fucking awful, but better than police, who will shoot your dog to death right in front of you if they feel like it. And they always feel like it.

  19. Awful. I hope that young man is okay and reunited with his dog. Never let anyone get away with the myth that Republicans/conservatives are for liberty and against "big government." They have removed their spines to support the most intrusive, authoritarian, and asinine administration in US history
