  1. They're shameless because their media cover for them. Lie for them. Distract for them. They're shameless because they understand that with their base so divorced by reality that they will never lose them--because losing them would mean the ultimate death of their party.

  2. Sadly, voters wil notl vote for "democracy" or the law or the constitution

As long as we have evil liars at the healm of media and industry and politics it does not matter

As long as maga keeps food in peoples bellies and hate on their plate they win

  3. The whole thing is greasy and so utterly stupid. And ultimately may be just a better sea wall against a tsunami, should the current rate of political degradation for Trump hold steady.

  4. It's Civil War 2. Republicans are trying to take over the government and to hold it. The effort went under the radar for years, but now it's out in the open. They keep on upping the ante. At some point, they might resort to guns.

  5. Jesus never forced his ideas on anyone nor did he need to force.

If you have to force your will, how bad are your ideas?

  6. United States of Texas, without Juneteenth or MLK holiday.

Well, they do have Pantex in Amarillo if the gerrymandering fails.

  7. No, what he said was “ we must not have free and fair elections “. The people cannot be trusted to elect a “fair” Congress

  8. Texas constantly redistricts to give GOP an advantage. I lost count on how many district changes there have been in 52 years at my address. Only had one Democratic rep. in all that time. The rest were either brain-dead (Jim Collins), party hardliners, or now, Trump sycophants.

  9. And this is why the 2026 elections are going to be a shit show of the first order. Shenanegans are afoot.

Very likely, most red (and some blue) states are going to do their best to gerrymander the hell out of their districts, courts be damned.

  10. I will go out on a limb and say these five seats won’t matter because republicans will lose the House by a lot more.

  11. Respectfully Tom, we are past the ‘they said the quiet part out loud’

I’d say since Bush v Gore it’s been obvious and inevitable.

  12. The word conjure is apt. Evokes pentagrams, whiffs of sulfur, and apprentice wizards who have no idea what they're unleashing.

  13. And some people will still say “when they go low, we go high…” and cling to norms. I think that time is past. No unilateral disarmament. Let CA, IL, and NY counter any shenanigans down south. Sadly voters are not rewarding “norms”.

  14. Who else is sick and tired of old white male bigots in our government? There should be a moratorium voting for them until the country is repaired back to a semblance of normal.

  15. "It's annoying that we have to fight elections for our cause

The inconvenience—having to get a majority

If normal methods of persuasion fail to win us applause

There are other ways of establishing authority"

  16. I thought we all understood that the entity currently known as the Republican Party views corruption and cheating as a feature.

  17. Why hide it? They really don’t want any chance they’re ever out of power. And you’ve got to wonder, besides all the crazy we know of, what other illegal crazy are they doing that they really don’t want to be prosecuted for…

  18. He said it on CNN yesterday morning. Straight out. Also said that when Dems gerrymander its illegal, so Republicans have no choice, and then its legal.

It is so insane, so way over the line and nakedly out in the open.

  19. Will of the people be damned! Apparently things only count if it's the right people making the choices.

  20. IOW: no checks and balance on this president. He can still do whatever the hell he wants in his final two years in office.

  21. I don't think they want to obscure it any more. They want it plain as day: we rule you, give up.

    Not that I intend to.
