  1. You know what the funniest part of this is? In this report on the DNC—an entity that exists solely to raise money—has failed utterly at raising money, it is not ever suggested, not even remotely alluded to the very idea, that maybe either/both of the men pictured above should lose their job over it.

  2. I also would like to get paid to do nothing and to promise I will do nothing in the future.

  3. Sending out dnc donation requests via text message from James Carville made me shudder and quickly delete.

Now, if David Hogg was still with the dnc and allowed to pursue candidates that could primary fossilized dems, I'd be waaaay more likely to pull out my wallet.

  4. It's almost like people want policy not platitudes but I do hope they keep paying think tanks to tell them how to be more like MAGA instead of challenging their corporate overlords in any way. Great times

  5. What else can they do? Thanks to the daftness of USA voters in 2024, Trump/GOP have full control of all three Houses. Dems can only "do something" when they have enough votes to pass anything, which they do when in power, unlike the do nothing Republicans who do even less when in power than without.

  6. Gee, wonder why $$ not glowing into Dem coffers. Could it be “leaders” are tone deaf and complacent with traditional politics instead of meeting the moment?

  7. Is this article suggesting that the dual messages of "fascists have reasonable concerns" and "better things aren't possible" hasn't worked out?

  8. bluntly put: The Democrat Party NEEDS to embrace the left, or be left behind.

Continuously “voting blue no matter who” seems to have only benefited Trump.

  9. The Democrats who have been doing town hall meetings in Republican districts and the one who are speaking out with the loudest voices against Trump and his autocratic machine (like Gavin Newsom) are doing the best in fundraising. The ones who are delivering Pablum comments about the economy aren’t.

  10. An elderly neighbor hadn't voted in 40 years. He registered online & was grinning ear to ear when he received his acknowledgement postcard. 💙💙 Think positive, he & we #elderlywhitehippies got lots of protesting experience too!

  11. I am not sure that I want to fund a party whose sole running point is "we aren't the other guy". This is all they have run on for decades.

    0
  12. Tbf, it’s the point. The Democrat establishment is in on it. You can’t watch everything that’s happened, and how they haven’t fought against any of it and believe otherwise

    0
  13. That might be the strongest argument for New Democratic Party leadership. Schumer and Jeffries only hold their positions because of proximity to Wall Street, and the ability to raise money.

    0
  14. Personally I think that's how things should be with party. It's progressive members and independents banding together as a new party would elicit more vote's!

    0
  15. Well, they’ve been without a coherent, coordinated message since February so this isn’t surprising. The Dem party leadership should be ashamed. I won’t give anyone a dime until I see their potential for fighting for our democracy. They’re weak, ineffective people who deserve to lose (at this point).

  16. They're like this in a lot of different regards; in terms of how they and associated PACs fundraise there's a ton of behavior so shortsighted and manipulative as to be malpractice. In a sane, well-ran party, things like Mothership wouldn't exist.

  17. I'm still going to vote for Democrats, but the only reason I do that is because they're not Republicans. I think the same is true for most Democratic voters. It would not surprise me at all if they fail to flip the House.

  18. Republicans are winning the war. We're all in a daze just trying to figure out how to counter what Trump & Repubs are doing. They're firing on all cylinders. We don't know where to hide just hoping it will all go away. We never seem to be working on offense. Always defense. We need new leadership.

    1
  19. It’s almost as if there’s a social media site full of engaged Dems giving free opinions every day on what they want to see.

  20. Do nothing - while at the same time sending me texts to raise more money so you can continue to do nothing

I got a fundraising text from Hassan who’s term doesn’t expire until 2029 saying she “needs funds to fight back against Trumpism” as if she doesn’t ALREADY HAVE THE JOB AND ISN’T DOING 💩

  21. I still feel like they don’t understand we want younger and better communicators! Stop asking me for money and take some actions that get me excited to support! And be the actual big tent party so support progressive candidates too!

  23. Here's what needs to be done. Not by the party itself but by nonprofit orgs. Political parties do nothing unless pushed.

The GOP, e.g., only does what it's doing bc Right Wing billionaires like Murdoch & Mercer--not the party itself--have pushed it hard.

  24. Here's the thing - we're done with Democrats who want business as usual, because those Democrats have failed us by being cowards. They failed us by not standing up for the people, so we reject all weak, spineless, corporate, special- interest funded toadies. We want progressive, fearless candidates.

    0
  25. We need to look at the Dems that are running right now, who are refusing to use PAC funds. Grass roots campaigns. Word of mouth. Not $$$$$ ads on TV. The old guard Dems are done. Do Nothing Dems are done. They are so blind they just don't see they are the reason for all of this today.

  26. If only there were inspirational national Democratic leaders instead of these 2 & the rest bribed by AIPAC into enabling a fascist genocide & a normalizing podcaster trolling California governor who was married to Trump Jr's ex, now putting on a show for us amidst silence.

  27. Maybe if you didn’t get 10 hyperbolic fundraising texts a day after you donate people wouldn’t be as hesitant to donate again.

Also, if they’re going to attack a Dem nominee because he dares to suggest something like free buses, I’ll donate directly to that candidate instead of any larger group.

  28. Those men are both losers and we have get rid of them. They have led us into a dead end alley we will have to fight our way out of. Possibly LITERALLY fight our way out of.

  29. their plan, as they have said it, is to do nothing and hope that trump has so thoroughly fucked up this country that they win 2026 by default. unfortunately, they'll probably be proven correct. of course, predicated on the suffering and deaths of millions of people

  30. It bums me out that no I won’t send $5 to someone in a race that could use it cuz I’m not sending $ to any of these fukkers until they recognize their incompetence in the face of this fascist reality.

    1
  31. If they got rid of Chuck and some of those old assholes would leave & they all start stepping up & fighting like Gavin, OAC, Pete & Jasmine - maybe things would change.

    2
  32. I gave and gave and gave for the election last year, but as soon as the election was over and I realized they were just running the next race and not genuinely fighting for our democracy, I stopped giving altogether except one or two organizations that are really fighting.

The Republicans have convinced with the help of the media that they have their base best interests in mind. All the problems of our country are because migrants take away their jobs and benefits. They will need to go through a lot of pain before they understand the truth.

  34. Who could have guessed that voters wouldn't want to donate to a party that they feel is currently betraying them and failing to take their concerns seriously in spite of a sustained public outcry?

    0
  35. So why would people not register to vote? Our country is on fire, we need all of us! Don’t like the democrats, Think about what NOT voting did to us, we lost not just an election we lost a country! Fucking register and fucking vote or start learning Russian.

  36. The current Dem leadership is an abysmal clutch of limp lettuce & weakness, sautéd in dreary letters, ineffective orders, edicts, proclamations, & effete solipsisms.

They’re myopic, out of touch, missing the point, & can’t smell smoke of a raging fire at their feet.

    It’s a national embarrassment

    1
  37. We need a more diverse and younger leadership in Democratic Party. New fresh ideas and to fight like hell. Those old days of bipartisan are gone. Be like the maga no rules. I am 72 white woman and ready for a change. 🫶

  38. These are the same complancent leaders that allowed Trump to reconstitute power. They will do it again too if they regain control. Sure some bluster but mostly move on and get back to business as usual. Demand demilitarization, demand fair tax, demand healthcare, demand justice.

    0
  39. In fairness, they got a good run out of "surrendering at the slightest hint of opposition so you can whine about the failure being the other guy's fault". It's just that that one stopped working and they're all out of ideas.

    0
  40. They are paid to do nothing. The bag men deliver the thousands and they deliver the inaction.

    0
  41. Not surprised they have no interest in appealing to what is their supposed base. They are still chasing the mythical fiscal conservative that is begrudgingly accepting of gay marriage and would like some ethnic friends, but despises the poor, trans people, refugees, and unions.

  42. They both need to go - Jeffries is not what we need at this moment … his childish memes and his inadequate talking points aren’t working

    We need fighters

  43. They have made registration impossibly difficult in Florida. Even signing for VBM is hard..how many people know what signature they used years ago when they registered..signatures need to match.

  46. The fact that Schumer still has a job just shows the democratic party is a joke.

First thing on the agenda should be to fire this old useless fuck

    3
  47. Newsom and Pritzker have done more in the past month to resist than these two have in 6 months (and probably more). The game has changed and these two want to resist THAT. As said in a previous post, these two are NOT serving the people but their donors.

  48. @frh.bsky.social

Registered as a Democrat in 1977. Reregistered as no party affiliation and deleted my ActBlue info after Schumer screwed the pooch on the CR in March. Had some hope for Jeffries then, but now see it was misbegotten. Have hope for some of the new age candidates (Turek in Iowa, Platner in Maine).

Schumer, Jeffries, and most of the Dem establishment are inert and pathetic. Beholden to AIPAC and the billionaires who fund MAGA. And when a potential star like Mamdani or AOC appears, they do everything they can to sabotage them. Dem “leadership” needs to be flushed down the toilet

    2
  50. Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries, two New York DEM politicians, can’t be the face of a main opposition party. Specially Schumer with his god awful reading glasses.

  51. Ok, I’ve posted about this under a few comments about the texting. 99.9% of the texts aren’t coming from “the DNC” or even legit campaigns. Be very wary of fundraising texts! If you want to give to ANYONE give directly thru their website. The actual DNC should shout this from the rooftops.

  52. People phone bank and knock on doors and buy yard signs when they believe in—and feel pride for—a candidate’s policy positions. That’s your job! Being “not Trump” isn’t enough and I don’t know how long it will take for these two dry, simpering fucks to figure that out.

    1
  53. Get out of the way and let the young people govern you old f@rts (this from a 77 year old liberal in a red state).

    0
  54. I mean yeah they’re feckless and irritating but it seems like if we’re trying to avoid a one party dictatorship we’ll need at least two parties

    0
  55. You seem to have been spending your time fighting the fascist party by frowning and harrumphing at them. Why are you surprised this is affecting the eagerness of people to give you money & advocate for you to do more nothing?

    0
  56. Dems have the same problem now as they had during the election, they are not telling the American people how they intend to make American lives better. This is politics 101, kitchen table issues and apparently the old farts are still not able to grasp this simple truth. Run the young, can the old.

    0
  57. Complete failure in a message or action that is so needed at this time. The Dems will get no money from me. The leadership of the dems are no different then the republican leadership. It’s a club and they want to stay part of it so they basically have said and done nothing.

    0
  58. I think after the Clinton/Trump fiasco, I stopped giving $ to any of the Dem "organizations". I give to the candidates I support. Bernie, AOC, Liz Warren, Katie Porter, etc., etc. Show me you can DO something, I'll chip in. DNC, DCCC, whatever-- a bunch of useless, spamming assholes.

    0
  59. They might want to stop texting me, and I assume every other person who ever donated to a Democrat through ActBlue - 20 times a day, no matter how many times you delete and mark as spam, or text 'Stop' back. That's a great starting point.

    3
  60. People want new candidates. We're also tired of the work that goes into these people creating these baby steps to the next one. The biggest one is term limits. More roles need limits to continue to get new blood in. Also, because of Tariff's wallets are tight right now.

    1
  61. Guess they should have put trump in jail instead of sending strongly worded letters. Maybe people would have some respect for a party willing to stand up for law and order.

    2
  62. Could it be the Democratic Party died and they just don’t know it? They have been rather pathetic since Obama; bad management is at the top of the list, followed by aging politicians who don’t want to give up their cushy lives.

    0
  63. Lots of Dems are fighting, and then there is the congressional leadership. They are completely useless at this point and must be replaced. We need an uprising to get rid of Trump, but first, we need one to get rid of these two and their lackeys.

    @schumer.senate.gov

    0
  64. It's like the leadership of the party just totally gave up after the election. The hardest campaign work they are doing is fighting against the people really getting ahead (such as Mamdani).

    0
  65. We need new leadership in both houses of Congress. These two have been immobilized, old school and feckless in the past 7 months.

Yeah, but would you like their inaction more if it was ALL CAPS? Seems like Newsom does all-caps and no one remembers his abuses of California voters that can't afford housing.

    0
  67. The election was last November and still the democrats are operating without a strong leader as head of the party to fight the authoritarian orangutan…Schumer and Jeffries are just a couple of wet lettuce leaves and the wrong ones to take on that fight.

    1
  68. Democratic politicians everywhere need to understand something: the massive support you're seeing right now for Texas House Democrats would be the support you'd easily get, too, if you were willing to fight back aggressively instead of navel-gazing and talking about "norms."

Martin was ticked off Hoag was 'shaking things up' and what happened...they let him go. Can someone please tell me what the hell Martin is doing to change this around? When he was voted in I remember everyone was saying Ben Wikler would have been a much better choice. Martin is running out of time.

  70. Stupid, lazy fuckers want to lead from behind. Do nothing but write sternly worded letters to people that don't give a shit. The only thing they've done in the past 2 years was convince Biden to drop out and take my vote away.

    0
  71. Not Newsom! Now before you go all holy on me, is he perfect - hardly. Can he change, not sure but will keep an open mind - we need FIGHTERS, not hand- ringing, letter writing, coattail riding feckless reps! At least his team can deliver…

    0
  72. They are getting it now. I donated my butt off last election-I knew what trump would unleash. My issue: Get rid of the old guard AND that no leader even mentioned the 200 "Russian" bomb threats or fought to have even 1 recount/audit. No$ from me. I needed someone to fight, they laid down and took it

    0
  73. They aren’t really politicians, they are political functionaries who do only whats laid out in the constitution. The constitution says the prez does x + y and congress does z + w, so they do that and ONLY that. They don’t build power outside their offices, they dont build movements. They are uesless

    1
  74. The economics of begging and asking for money constantly and getting placed on every Dem candidates communication list is exhausting, and all while never asking for your input on anything.

Actblue, SUCKS! It ignores your communication and privacy settings, and gives your data out to everyone!

    0
  75. Well, as far as I can see, the Democrats remain strongly committed to saying little or nothing, doing little or nothing, and keeping the voters confused, at best, about what they actually believe. Why would anyone who pays attention be motivated to give them money or even register as a member?

Impotent. Clueless. Totally unaware of where they lost the plot or the depths of the actual danger. Incredibly frustrating

  80. They aren't doing nothing - they are busy fawning over & supporting Netanyahu. (Photo July of this year.)

Somebody please explainhow Dem Senators who fawn over a genocidal war criminal &give him our tax $$ are somehow better & more moral than GOP Senators who fawn over traitor & pedophile Trump.

Photo of Adam Schiff, Ted Cruz, Chuck Schumer, Cory Booker & others smiling gathered around Netanyahu at a luncheon in the US.
